Euroopan vihreät kokoontuvat 11.-13.marraskuuta kongressiin. Tänä vuonna kongressin ohjelmaan kuuluu niin yhteistä keskustelua Green new dealin sosiaalisista ulottuvuuksista ja maatalouspolitiikasta kuin seminaareja kiinnostavista aiheista, mm. energiapolitiikasta. Luvassa on myös workshoppeja ja verkostoitumista, sekä tietysti yhteisiä iltarientoja.
Kongressi on Euroopan vihreiden korkein päättävä elin, ja se kokoontuu noin 2,5 vuoden välein. Me Suomen vihreät voimme lähettää kokoukseen 19 delegaattia. Ensimmäistä kertaa kongressi järjestettiin v. 2004 Roomassa, jonne kokoontui yli 1000 vihreää kokousedustajaa ympäri Eurooppaa sekä lisäksi epävirallisia osallistujia saman verran. Luvassa on siis upea tunnelma & vihreää yhdessäoloa parhaimmillaan.

Dear Friends of the Greens,
We would like to share with you some exciting news about our forthcoming European Green Party Congress, the fourth in the history of the Green Party, which will take place from 11 – 13 November 2011
in Paris.
Almost two and an half years have flown by since our last Congress in Brussels and we have a lot to discuss, debate and decide upon together again. And with France warming-up for next year’s Presidential and parliamentary elections, there’s no better place to do that than Paris! Members of , the co-hosts of this year Congress, will be coming in big numbers, so we are expecting well over 1000 participants.
This will be a great opportunity to meet fellow Greens from around Europe, and from further afield. Since our last Congress in 2009, the Green family has grown steadily, and we can’t wait to welcome the
delegations from our new member and observer parties.
Our congress venue will be the famous Maison de la Mutualité in the very heart of Paris (5eme arrondissement). Over the past century, the building has traditionally been at the heart of the French Left. With a total refurbishment this year, our Congress will be one of the first events taking place there—a good start for a new tradition in the long history of the building!
